Fault finding and repair of electrical equipment and systems

Electrical system faults can be caused by:

- Damaged or faulty equipment

- Water ingress

- Undersized or incorrectly specified equipment

- Operational error

- Power quality issues

Our highly trained technicians follow logical diagnostic sequences to solve and repair faults in the shortest possible time.

Generator and ATS servicing

Back-up generators must be frequently tested and maintained to ensure that they are operational. Neglecting maintenance is one of the most common causes of early system failures.

HV&LV circuit breaker maintenance

HV and LV Circuit breakers and their associated protection relays are responsible for interrupting the supply in the event of a fault situation to protect downstream equipment and personnel. These should be checked as part of a preventative maintenance program to ensure they will operate within the parameters specified.

Power Logging and Quality Audits

Power logging and recording can assist in obtaining the remaining power capacity of an installation. This is often required when considering property expansions and developments.

Poor power quality can also result in malfunction and reduced lifespan of equipment and audits can be an extremely useful diagnostic tool.

RCD and Emergency Light Testing

Australian Standards AS/NZS 2293.2 1995 and AS/NZS 3760:2010 and the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations

1996 require Emergency lighting systems and RCD’s be tested every 6 months to ensure that they are operational.

Thermographic Inspections of Electrical Equipment

Thermographic inspections are an extremely effective tool to identify dangerous and very costly equipment faults.

Metrowest technicians are all TCAT 1 or TCAT 2 certified to meet insurance requirements for thermographic inspections.
