Metrowest Constructions were proud to receive the award for Best Public Use Building (under $20 million) at the annual Master Builders – Bankwest Excellence in Construction Awards evening. The award was in recognition of their work on the iFly Indoor Skydiving Centre in Rivervale.
Metrowest Constructions undertook the design and construct of this facility. Constructing to a tolerance of 3mm to enable wind speeds up to 270km/h and integrating the assembly and installation of more than 5,000 client supplied components. The building consisted of a basement plenum plus Ground and 4 floors. The design and construction was accomplished in a compressed period of 34 weeks exclusive of inclement weather delays. Achieving an accelerated completion and allowing the client to open for business prior to Christmas.
The project required an intense focus on design accuracy, construction tolerances, detailed programming of procurement and work and commissioning. Each phase of the project facilitated the success of the next stage with the additional challenge of building through the unusually difficult Perth winter.
Metrowest Group congratulates the Metrowest Construction team on their success.
